A2A
A2A is a conservation association with federal incorporation as a not-for-profit organization.
After almost 2 years of working on and refining our submission to the Charities Directorate of Canada, the Algonquin to Adirondacks Conservation Association has been granted Charitable Status. This means that our organization can issue tax receipts to donors, which can be used to reduce the amount of tax they pay. Up until now, the A2A board has not initiated any fundraising drives. Now such drives will have a greater chance of success. Charitable Status will also enable A2A to apply for certain types of grants for which we were ineligible previously.
The Charitable Status A2A has is still for the Canadian side only. As the American A2A movement gains strength, we will consider applying for equivalent status in the U.S. Meanwhile, we now have a post office box on the American side. U.S. residents can contact us at P.O. Box 1 Wellesley Island, New York 13640-0640.

Vision
We envision an Algonquin to Adirondacks region that sustains a rich mosaic of interconnecting habitats which enhance ecological integrity in a way that respects the people who live here, and which function as the critical link in maintaining connectivity in Eastern North America.
Mission
We will provide leadership and facilitate collaboration among partners to restore, enhance, and maintain ecological connectivity, ecosystem function, and native biodiversity, while respecting sustainable human land uses in the Algonquin to Adirondacks region. We will work at international, national, regional, and local levels to develop strategic and site-specific initiatives to achieve connectivity.
